Summer Boho

Well today was a scorcher! I decided to go sort of ethnic/boho for the unbelievable weather. A maxi skirt is ideal in the Summer if you don't like showing your legs. Wearing it with a black top meant when people said 'I love your dress' I had to correct them, 'Skirt and a top, my friend, skirt and top' but really that was a trivial thing. What mattered today was lying on the grass on our lunchbreak and locating calippos - both missions complete.

I'm so British when it comes to the weather, it's literally all I can think about. I'm particularly enjoying the fact I'm getting heat practice in before my holiday. If it could just stay like this until October, that would be great.

Anyway, back to the outfit! I absolutely love this top. I bought it a few Christmasses ago as a present for someone else but it was too good to let go so it was more 'Merry Christmas, me!' I adore the detail of the flowers and love the surprise of it. Back details are so much more appealing, don't you think? I was also enjoying my stacked bracelets ensemble, who says silver, gold and rose gold don't work?

Casual Day

Some days you just want to throw on whatever is comfortable and this was one of those days. The oatmeal cardigan was something I found on sale in New Look and let me tell you, it answered all my prayers. It goes with virtually everything and it's a lovely knit, not scratchy or too gappy (i.e. you freeze when the wind blows).

The grey cropped tee is something I really like but find kind of hard to pair with things. Luckily my trusty H&M bodycon skirt came to the rescue. Overall it's quite a muted look (it was a cold day) but I added some little details like my stacked bracelets and pink lips.

Boat Shoes

Hello Summer! Today has been very much Summer in every way possible. Not only did I have a twister ice lolly but our boss decided we all deserved calippo's and cornetto's too. So two ice lollies, Will Smith on the sound system and a stop at the bereau de change later, I was feeling very happy. Not to mention that it was 26 degrees!

I have a confession though. This outfit wasn't what I was wearing today. Yes, it's true, sometimes I take the pictures and take a little while to upload them and I'm sorry for that. You may also have shrewdly noticed that I have slightly longer hair and am somewhat pastier than the previous post. Confession number two, sometimes I don't upload in order either. In the time between, I've had my hair cut and dyed and have also cracked open the fake tan in preperation for my holiday! I'm off to Turkey to see my Mum on Friday #woopah!

Anyway, this outfit is very Spring-like, it's not quite Summer but then neither was the temperature when I wore it at the weekend. I love my new boat shoes from Asos, you can find them here. If they did a pair in brown/brown and white I'd be all over them. They're the kind of shoes that are instantly comfy although they did rub a little on the heel without tights. They are a bargain though and I'd been after a pair of boat shoes for ages.

Globetrotter

Some days you just want to go all out print crazy and this was one of those days. The temperature has been sneaking up and I'm off on holiday at the end of the week, so my Summer clothes have been pleading with me to let them out.

Print clashing isn't usually my thing but I think the leopard print of the harem pants is dark enough to let me get away with the aztec clutch. Everything else I kept neutral - safety measures people.

I love espadrilles for the summer, they're a really nice change from flip flops or sandals and much comfier too.

Are you a print clasher or do you prefer to keep things simple?

Floral Shorts, Mint Pastels & Studded Slippers

I like the word 'slippers' it makes me think of Cinderella although these badboys are much more granddad grunge (that should definitely be a concept). Pretty much everything I'm wearing is new, I keep coming up with clothes that I 'need' and floral shorts, studded slippers and anything mint was on the latest list.

I actually am really pleased with the slippers. I got them from Missguided here and I think for £22.99 they're a good buy, although I'd recommend being a little careful around the studs because I've dislodged a few already.

I have Celestial by Topshop on my nails which I had to buy after seeing Sammi from BeautyCrush wearing it in a video. I absolutely love the shade and think it will look inCREDible with a tan.

What's your favourite Spring pastel colour? I think I might have to do a mint blog post because I have so many shades of it now!

Floral Skinny Jeans

Action hair shot

I've been after a pair of floral skinny jeans or floral trousers for a while now. I think they compliment the Spring pastels trend perfectly and, well, they're just so pretty! I wasn't sure I'd be able to get away with them because obviously they draw the eye to your legs which is not my favourite area, shall we say. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried these on and I think it's thanks to the large print. Small print + sizeable thighs = bad combo.

I thought I'd leave the rest of the outfit quite neutral so as to let the trousers do the talking but added a red lip to balance things out. The trousers are currently available in Internacionale and are a mere £19.99. They have loads of other coloured jeans and patterns including vertical stripes (which I could NOT carry off). I'd absolutely recommend having a look, they have some real gems including a lot of Topshop lookalikes but for a fraction of the price (and no, I haven't been asked to say this.)

Hope you've enjoyed your bank holiday weekend. I have spent the whole of today trying to clear out my wardrobe. It is quite frankly ridiculous how many clothes I own. Are you the same?

Double Denim

Double denim is a scary sounding concept but it's not all about stonewash and crimped hair. Technically, this is a double denim ensemble I've got going on here. I think my denim shirt will be a good light cover up for when (if) the weather warms up and it'll go with everything.

I've started the mammoth task of Spring cleaning my wardrobe. I'm trying to be ruthless but apparently I'm emotionally attached to a lot of it.So far I've moved a load out of my wardrobe and it's now hanging up in doorways - a good start! It feels ridiculously good to be able to slide the hangers along in the wardrobe. Before it was a 'heave to one side and ram it in' job which nobody enjoys. I think when it was that full I put off even looking in there so I'd recommend it if you're getting sick of the site of clothes squashed together in a 'can't even breathe' fashion.

Are you having a clear out? Are you a ruthless tidier or a hoarder? 'But I might need it for a wild West fancy dress party.' - you won't.
